How to measure your head for a kufi cap
You only need a soft measuring tape, the kind used by a tailor. If you do not have one, use a piece of string or a phone charging cable, mark the point where it meets, and then measure that length against a ruler or steel tape.
- Wrap the tape around your head where the cap will sit: about one finger above the eyebrows, just above the ears, and around the fullest part of the back of the head.
- Keep the tape level all the way round, and snug but not tight. You should be able to slide one finger under it.
- Read the measurement where the tape meets. Note it in both centimetres and inches, since most tapes show both.
- Measure two or three times and use the largest reading. If someone at home can help, the result is usually more accurate.
Measure with your hair as you normally keep it. If you sometimes wear a cap over thicker hair or after a fresh haircut, keep that in mind when you choose.
